Barloworld Equipment Zambia Ltd
Mfikeyi has been in the Mining sector for 10 years having worked as an engineer in one’s of Zambia’s largest copper mines, Kansanshi Copper- Gold Mine, with First Quantum Minerals Ltd and currently in the Heavy Equipment industry with Barloworld Equipment Zambia Ltd, the official Caterpillar dealer.
She began her career as a Civil Engineer in the USA in 2007 before returning home at the end of 2009. Her mining journey started on a process plant in the maintenance division, before moving to the mining division. She worked in Production Drilling and became certified to operate blasthole drills in hard rock surface mining operations. Mfikeyi expanded her horizons by working in the Internal Audit division which took her to operations in Australia, Finland, Mauritania, & Panama.
In 2017, she joined the Heavy Equipment Manufacturing industry, as Assistant Operations Manager for Barloworld Equipment Zambia Ltd, the official dealer of Caterpillar products in the region. She was appointed to Operations Manager in June 2018, with her role & responsibilities covering an expanded mining customer base supporting all the underground and surface copper mines in Zambia, the emerald mining sector, industrial aggregates industry and general construction.
Mfikeyi also holds 2 Masters degrees in Environmental Engineering & Mining Engineering from Old Dominion University & University of Exeter’s Camborne School of Mines, respectively.
